Community Events
Queer and Trans Clothing Swap
Free gently used and pre-loved clothing for any person who is LGBTQ+. If you can create a costume with things you find at the swap, you win a sweet prize! Also a great place to find an outfit for Queer Prom! We have grab bags of makeup, personal hygiene products, lots of accessories, contraceptives, and menstrual products all FREE! We have coffee, tea, and bus tickets!
Treehaus Collaborative Workspace has 3 gender neutral washrooms, is wheelchair accessible, child friendly, and is low scent. This means we ask you to please avoid using fragrances.
Filmmaking Workshop
1-3 PM Ages 13-17 | 4-6 PM Ages 18+
Making a Scene media workshops is a hands on learning experience that will take participants through each step of the filmmaking process. From idea generation to screen, we will collaborate on a short between 1-5 minutes long, through a series of stations including storyboarding, editing, and more modern and accessible methods. Participants will walk away with extended knowledge of film making, story building, and technology!
Queer Prom
8 PM - 1 PM, All Ages
QUEER PROM is an ALL NEW LGBTQ+ Comedy Showcase presented by Chantel Marostica, the Creator & Producer of “Queer and Present Danger” that combines a night of side-splitting humour with a dance party. We encourage you to find your prom outfit at the Plan B clothing swap earlier in the day and get your photo taken by festival photographer Naomi Ricard at our prom photo booth. We are excited to be serving the Impact beer by Descendants.
This event is presented in partnership between Queer Prom, Plan B, Rainbow Reels and LOL (Ladies and LGBTQ+ Out Loud.) and Fresh Ground.
Family Day Free Breakfast
Join us for a continental breakfast and make new friends. All are invited and especially rainbow families and friends of all ages.
